Regent BLSA...An Overview

The Black Law Students Association (BLSA) is one of the many student organizations at the Regent University School of Law. The BLSA Executive Board has worked very hard to establish the direction for the chapter this year. Their energies are focused on starting the new millennium off right, by taking BLSA to a higher level.

For the 2000-2001 school year, BLSA has planned and sponsored many educational, political, religious, social, and community service events and activities. The chapter has three primary goals: 1.) to further the academic, professional, cultural, and spiritual needs and goals of Black law students; 2.) to promote community service in the neighboring black communities; and 3.) to communicate the contributions the African-American attorney has made to the American legal community.

The Executive Board is primarily concerned with the increasing number of African-American law students entering law school, as a whole and at this school. Upon acceptance, the chapter makes every attempt to ensure that the Black law student is successful in completing the law school program.

This chapter is an extension of and aligned with the Mid-Atlantic Regional Black Law Students Association and the National Black Law Students Association.
