2000 - 2001 Executive Board Members

Steven Holeman ~ President

Steven L. Holeman, 2L
BLSA Chair

A native of Durham, North Carolina,
Mr. Holeman is a graduate of Elon College,
where he received his B.A.degree in
Psychology in 1993.

Mr. Holeman is part of the dual degree
program where he is earning both a Juris
Doctorate and a Master of Arts degree
in Political Management.

Mr. Holeman has previously served as
Parliamentarian to the Mid-Atlantic
Regional BLSA during 1998 - 1999, and he
also served as the Regent BLSA Vice-Chair
during the 1999 - 2000 school year.

This year, he serves as the Regent BLSA
Chairman, and next year, he will continue
to serve BLSA as the 2001 - 2002 National
Chairman of the National Black Law Students
Association.

Wanda Jones ~ Secretary

Wanda Jones, 2L
BLSA Secretary

A 1997 graduate of Old Dominion University,
Ms. Jones earned her degree in Political
Science.

While starting her second year at Regent
University, she will also start her second
year as Secretary, having served in the
same position during the 1999-2000 school
year. This year she will also serve as
the Mid-Atlantic Sub-Regional Director
for Virginia.

Ms. Jones is also very active on campus,
having memberships in the Student Bar
Association (SBA), and the American Bar
Association (ABA).

Belinda James ~ Treasurer

Belinda James, 2L
BLSA Treasurer

Starting her first year on the Executive Board,
Ms. James brings a new perspective to the
organization.

A 1995 graduate of Elizabeth City State
University, Ms. James earned her Bachelor of
Arts degree in Computer and Information Science.
In 1999, she also earned her Master of Arts
degree in Urban Affairs from Norfolk State
University.

Ms. James other law school involvement
includes Trial Advocacy.





Elbert George ~ Chaplain

Elbert George, 2L
BLSA Chaplain

Mr. George is another first year member
of the Executive Board. However, he
brings a vast array of leadership in
many areas.

Mr. George is a 1999 graduate of
Norfolk State University, graduating
Magna Cum Laude in Sociology. He is
also a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Mr. George will serve as Chaplain
for the 2000-2001 school year. He
has also participated in the
Negotiations and Moot Court competitions,
and is a member of the Student Bar
Association (SBA).

Sheronn Burrow ~ Director of Community Service

Sheronn Burrow, 2L
BLSA Director of Community Service

Ms. Burrow is a 1999 Sociology graduate
from Butler University.

Serving as the Director of Community Service
for 2000-2001, she has already conducted
a very successful Voter Registration
Drive at the 2000 Hampton Roads Afr-am
Fest.

Ms. Burrow also actively serves her sorority,
Sigma Gamma Rho, and is a past member of
the Order of Omega and Alpha Kappa Delta.

Noeisha McKenzie ~ Vice-President

Noeisha McKenzie, 2L
BLSA Vice-Chair

Ms. McKenzie is a graduate of the University
of Virginia (UVa), where she received her
Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs
in 1999.

She was elected BLSA's Vice-Chair for
2000-2001, after previously serving as
Assistant Secretary in 1999. Additionally,
Ms. McKenzie was appointed during 2000
to serve on the National Executive Board
of BLSA as Corresponding Secretary.

Ms. McKenzie is also very involved in
other organizations including the
Maritime Law Society, the Entertainment
and Sports Law Society, and the
International Law Society.





Anthony Taylor ~ Assistant Secretary

Anthony Taylor, 1L
BLSA Assistant Secretary

Mr. Taylor is a first year student, by way
of Curry College, where he finished his
Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal
Justice in 1995.

Starting his first year in BLSA, he will
serve on the Executive Board as Assistant
Secretary. Mr. Taylor brings a unique
perspective to the Board, because he is an
ordained minister of the United Holy
Church of America.

Outside of BLSA, Anthony will also serve
on the Negotiation/Client Counseling Board.
He is also a proud member of the Delta
Omega graduate chapter of Iota Phi Theta
Fraternity, Inc.

Crystal Twitty ~ Assistant Treasurer

Crystal Twitty, 1L
BLSA Assistant Treasurer

Fresh out of undergraduate school, and still
leading by example. Crystal is a May 2000
graduate of Hampton University, where she
received her Bachelor of Arts degree in
Psychology.

She was recently selected to serve as
Assistant Treasurer for the 2000 - 2001
school year. While in this capacity, Ms.
Twitty will also serve as Auditor/Audit
Committee Chair.

In addition to her BLSA duties, Ms. Twitty
will also be serving as the 1L
Representative for the Entertainment and
Sports Law Society.

Natalie Jones ~ Parliamentarian

Natalie Jones, 2L
Parliamentarian

Ms. Jones will be starting her second
year at the Regent University School
of Law.

Serving as Parliamentarian for 2000-2001
school year, she will keep the BLSA
meetings running smoothly and effectively.
Ms. Jones has already conducted a very
informative Robert's Rules of Order
Workshop for the Executive Board.





Ericka Young ~ Director of Legal Affairs

Ericka Young, 2L
BLSA Director of Legal Affairs

Ms. Young is starting her first year on
the Executive Board. The Director of
Legal Affairs is a newly created position
that will keep the membership abreast
of all legal issues concerning the
African-American law student.

In addition to being finalist for
the 2000 Regent University 1L Moot
Court competition, Ms. Young is also
a Chatlos Foundation Award winner.
Additonally, Ms. Young holds
memberships in the Student Bar
Association (SBA) and Trial Advocacy.

Ms. Young is an alumnus of Virginia
Commonwealth University, graduating in
1995, with a degree in Information Systems.
